Now the butter has to go through an assistant and the toaster is being described as an early creative influence. You’d call it ridiculous, but the lighting is excellent and, honestly, you can see why the other carbohydrates are annoyed. Some people spend years working on their craft. Some just turn up golden and get the lead.

There’s no need to dress for the premiere. Hot Toast puts the leading loaf on a regular-fit cotton tee, where he can enjoy top billing while you get on with your considerably less photographed day. The crew neck works just fine with jeans; the front print can handle any unreasonable expectations about star quality. Wear it to brunch if you can bear sharing the attention. Just don’t ask for an autograph before coffee. He’s very serious about his process.

Keep it looking good

Wash on a cold, gentle cycle with the tee turned inside out, similar colors, and a mild detergent. Skip fabric softener. Hang to dry, or use a low tumble-dryer setting. If needed, iron on a cool setting from the reverse, keeping the iron off the print. Do not dry-clean.
